NAMPAISKINDASCARY!
Tuesday: HUD workshop/downtown Nampa/pets allowed/El Tenampa
Hi folks,
As for work today? We learned at the workshop about the grant writing process through HUD as it relates to faith based non-profits (that's us). We did some excercises in how to go about collecting information before you even start and learned about the organizational requirements to satisfy the government that you are serious and capable of doing what you say you are going to do.
Yes folks. Organization is the keyword! Boards and Committees (Ugh!) things we have been trying to stay away from.
OK that's enough about work. At the hotel we left the cats in cat carriers in the room as advised. When we came back one had been sick and tried to claw her way out of the cage and was most upset at being cooped up for 4 hrs. So we let them loose and put a sign on the door 'do not disturb'.
We wanted to go tour a winery but it was too late by the time we got out of the workshop. So we thought we would go explore downtown Nampa 2nite and got to the police station when all hell broke loose with police cars with lites flashing and sirens blazing drove in front of us and around us coming and going in all directions at high speed; scared the bejesus out of us (excuse the expression). We never did findout what was the cause but pretty quick they all disappeared and there was silence so we got out of there; discretion being the better part of valor! We found a nice Mexican restaurant El Tenampa to hole up in and had dos pacificos and pork carnitas and a Corona.
Thats all folks!
PS some say we have too much time on our hands (writing this stuff) to which I reply, you don't have to read this junk....but you never know what tomorrow will bring.....stay tuned.
PS2. a blog is a web log. Get it? weblog=blog (that's for Wendy's info) Wendy we love you. LOL (=laughing out loud)
